I'm a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto, originally from Tehran, Iran. I moved to Canada seven years ago to pursue my studies, and living between two languages and cultures has made me a much better teacher.
I speak Persian fluently and love helping non-Persian speakers discover the language and the culture behind it. Outside of academia, I'm a certified tennis coach and have been coaching since 2019. I also play guitar in my free time.Öğretmen Olarak Ben
I taught general English in Iran for over ten years as a private tutor and in high schools. Since moving to Canada, I've focused on academic English: helping university students strengthen their writing, edit research papers, and prepare for academic or professional interviews. I've published academic papers in English myself, so I understand what that process actually demands.
I've also spent time studying university-level pedagogy, which has deepened my understanding of how adults learn, how to design meaningful lessons, and how to build student progress step by step toward independence. Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım
In 2016, a visit to elementary schools in Paris introduced me to Freinet Pedagogy and it shifted how I think about teaching. Since then my approach has centered on writing skills, presentation confidence, and learner independence. My goal is for students to eventually not need me: to recognize good materials on their own and keep growing after our lessons end.
I use visualization techniques, videos, slides, and songs to keep things engaging, and I stay current with apps and technology tools. Lessons are relaxed and conversational. Whatever your level or goal, we'll find the right pace together.Öğretim materyallerim
