Please check out Rie-sensei if you are starting Japanese and you need an encouraging tutor who will explain everything clearly. She is so kind and always makes sure you understand the materials, so you never feel confused. I always look forward to my lessons with her!

I really like Rie's lessons - as someone who's forgotten a lot of Japanese I'm always very nervous speaking and forget a lot of words and grammar. She's very patient and kind, so even stumbling through broken Japanese is still fun. I really appreciate her kindness, patience, and good energy.

Rie-san was very patient, reviewing vocabulary as much as I needed to, and giving me time to digest concepts and put them together. I also appreciate that she incorporated information regarding my family’s current situation (an unexpectedly sooner relocation to Kansai than we expected) into planning. With that information, she helped me create goals and milestones suiting what I would need. It’s very apparent that she is experienced, purposeful, and thoughtful.
