Hello! I’m Sonti, a passionate and dedicated Afrikaans tutor from the vibrant landscapes of South Africa. My love for languages began in my multilingual household, where I grew up speaking Afrikaans, English, and isiXhosa—each holding a special place in my heart. This early exposure ignited my curiosity and appreciation for linguistic diversity, shaping my journey into language education. My academic path started at Rhodes University, where I earned my first degree with majors in Legal, Politics & International Studies, as well as Afrikaans & Netherlands. Currently, I’m furthering my passion for teaching by pursuing a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Stellenbosch University.
As an educator, my goal is to uplift my students' confidence with each lesson, fostering a positive mindset and self-belief. I strive to transition away from the traditional teacher-student dynamic, creating a more relaxed and comfortable learning atmosphere. Ultimately, my aim is to ensure that every learner receives the full value of their investment in education.
I provide video-based lessons focusing on conversational skills, where engaging in dialogue allows me to offer tailored assistance. You can tell she loves teaching and sharing the language because she brings so much enthusiasm and joy to her teaching, she was also so encouraging and patient with me when I struggled with some of the the pronunciation and I can't wait for our next lesson.
