I come from both the city 🌆 and suburbs 🏡 of New York 🗽. I started teaching English 📚 when I moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia 🇷🇺. For several years, I taught English there, both in person 👥 and online 💻. Now, I work from my home 🏠 and enjoy helping people 👫 get better at communicating 🗣 more effectively in English worldwide 🌍. Outside of work, I like to do things I love ❤️. I work on voiceover projects 🎙, act in theater plays 🎭, and participate in films 🎬. I also have hobbies like playing chess ♟, going for walks 🚶‍♂️, drinking good coffee ☕, and spending time with friends 👭 and family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

I have two approaches 🤔 when it comes to teaching 📖: The Communicative Approach 🗣: This approach emphasizes the use of real-life situations 🌍 and the development of communication skills 📞. It places a strong emphasis 💪 on the use of authentic materials 📰 and tasks that require learners to use language in a meaningful way 💬. The Content-Based Instruction (CBI) Approach 📚🔍: This approach emphasizes the use of authentic materials 📚 and real-life situations 🌍 to teach language 🗣 and content 🧠 simultaneously. It is often used in subject-specific courses 🧪🎨 to help learners develop both language and content knowledge 📈.

I also believe 🤔 that the classroom 🏫 is where the active part of learning 🧠 should take place. You may do some preparation 📖 before the lesson so that our time ⏳ spent together is used more effectively ✨. Before the lesson, you would have your first look 👀 at a new language or a video 📺, and then get ready 🚀 for what is going to happen during our class which lets us produce new language 🗣 and having fun 🎉! =) I also have activities 📝 and materials 📚 for… Conversation, speaking, & discussion 🗣💬 Vocabulary terms and phrases 📖✨ Listening comprehension 🎧 Phrasal verbs, parts of speech, & prepositions 🌀🔍 Additional speaking and writing tasks ✍📢 Grammar & other language points
