Hello everyone,
I am a tutor and language learner and love to share my interests with others and help them get comfortable speaking German in any situation they might encounter in real life. I am very appreciative of people making the effort to learn my mother tongue, so don't worry about making mistakes or taking your time with the language, you will improve with time. I am very patient and understand the struggles of learning a new language as I have spent a couple years on italki as a student myself and continue taking lessons regularly. As a tutor I try to do the things that I have found most useful as a learner. We can speak about what interests you, read texts together or watch videos online and then talk about those. I do want to help you with whatever you need, so we will start by speaking about your goals and expectations regarding the lessons. I do not believe in studying grammar charts or vocabulary lists, but I do believe in improving those areas by gaining a natural understanding of how a language works through listening, reading an speaking. I really enjoyed the lesson with Jana! It was only the second time that I tried to speak German, so it was quite scary and difficult for me. But Jana turned out to be a very patient and supportive teacher :) She guided the lesson, asked lots of questions to get me talking, and gave me some useful phrases. I felt very comfortable during the lesson! 😊
