Rocio Fluency

Rocio is really extraordinary - I'm so glad I took her pronunciation course, and I wish I'd started it sooner! Her method is unique among all the teachers I've tried, with a genuine understanding of rhythm and sound. There are some French sounds that I couldn't even hear before working with Rocio, and the French people in my life really noticed the improvement once I started working with her. Highly recommend!

I keep coming back for classes with Rocio because she offers something rare & unique. Not only does she have all the fundamentals required to teach like the delicate combination of encouraging words and critical feedback, the ability to converse & make one feel comfortable in conversation, but she is trained in phonetics and the sounds of Spanish and actively trains herself to develop the ability to teach others how to come much closer to having a native-like accent. It's been fun and looking forward to more classes.

I can't help but marvel at Rocio's skill at getting past the barriers of my conscious (and self-conscious) mind so I learn how to make sounds and use intonation more naturally and intuitively. The exercises she has me do are playful but powerful, because they train the muscles in my mouth (and my ears) to imitate more natural speech patterns in French. Rocio is truly a master at what she does! Each class feels like a linguistic workout and I enjoy every minute :)

I cannot overstate how GOOD Rocio is at her job. I have spent decades trying to find a pronunciation and phonetics teacher. No one is even close to her level of professionalism and knowledge. I will save you a lot of time - book 10 lessons with her, and you will get better at speaking French in a way that is fluent and pleasant for everyone else. Amongst my decades of learning, this has been the best investment.

Rocio's pronunciation course has had a huge impact on my ability to speak French and my confidence to attempt trickier phrases. She is able to break down sounds in such an easy-to-grasp way and incorporate rhythm and music to help me learn more intuitively. I find pronunciation classes very challenging as trying to get something "right" triggers my childhood perfectionism and fear of failure. When I just speak conversational French and feel no pressure to get anything right, words just flow from me. However, if I know I have to say something "correctly", something in me freezes and everything I do seems to require more effort - it's almost painful. Rocio has been extraordinarily patient when me when I freeze and, as I as mentioned earlier, has playful, musical methods that relax my inner critic and help me pick up sounds and intonations more naturally. I am so grateful for my classes with Rocio and look forward to learning and growing more under her guidance.

If you want to improve your French pronunciation, Rocio is the perfect professional for that. Contrary to other teachers, she has really studied for that and clearly masters the necessary technique. I booked 20 sessions to improve my French pronunciation, even though the plan consists of 10 sessions. Now I will begin the sessions to improve my Spanish pronunciation.
