Jose Lunar

Jose is always really fun to talk to! I have been busy lately and haven't had as much time to do Spanish lessons, but Jose inspires me to find the time, because I enjoy our weekly conversations so much. I have personally recommended him to some of my friends in the medical field, but I'd also recommend him to anyone learning with comprehensible input (CI)! Note: I would not be surprised if he's also a good teacher if you are using a method other than comprehensible input, but I don't have any experience with that — I feel like he has adapted his teaching style perfectly to what I needed!

Jose is one of the best teachers of any subject I have ever met. The structure of his classes are great and you feel accomplished by the end. On top of this he focuses on your needs and is a medical professional. Really an amazing teacher, I highly recommend to anyone do your classes with Jose!

Muy buen profesor, súper paciente y claro al explicar los términos médicos. Me sentí muy cómoda practicando con él. ¡Lo recomiendo! I really needed help learning how to take patient histories and ask questions in Spanish, and he explained everything clearly and at my level. He made me feel comfortable practicing, even when I made mistakes, and helped me find better ways to phrase medical questions naturally.

My Spanish is improving so much with José! As an aside, I used the patient questions and follow-up questions that José helped me with (which we created in a previous class) in order for me to collect a clinical history, and it went super smoothly! Everything was clearly answered, and I got all the information I needed from the patient!!! He's currently helping me learn how to write clinical observations in Spanish. He has been so integral to my professional growth, and he's always so supportive and understanding. He's so fun to talk to so sometimes I get sidetracked and talk about non-clinical things (which is also great practice) and he also makes space for that, but he's also really thoughtful and reminds me and brings me back to the clinical stuff so that I get that done as well. He's such a wonderful teacher, I really appreciate his expertise, personality, his feedback, and his encouragement!

Jose tailors each session specifically to my learning needs as a physician. We do scenarios/cases, all in Spanish, and he specifically comes up with cases applicable to my specialty. This has been very helpful!

Jose was a wonderful teacher. I couldn't recommend him more strongly for learning medical Spanish. He created a comfortable environment to practice, answered my questions clearly and kindly, and has a great structure to teach students medicine. I can very easily imagine how he adjusts his classes based on the level of his students. Great lesson!!
