Hi, I’m Laone, a certified English teacher from Botswana with 6+ years of experience helping students speak English confidently in real-life situations, not just in textbooks. I’ve also been living abroad in Indonesia for the past 2 years while completing my master's degree in sustainability science, which has given me valuable international experience and a deeper understanding of communicating across cultures.
My lessons are practical, energetic, and focused on helping learners use English naturally in conversations, business, healthcare, travel, interviews, and everyday life. I combine my TEFL certification with a background in environmental health, making me especially effective with healthcare professionals, university students, and career-driven learners who need English for professional and global communication.
My classroom is relaxed, interactive, and full of positive energy. Through roleplays, real-world discussions, multimedia, games, and conversation practice, I create lessons that are engaging, effective, and memorable. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable enough to speak freely and make mistakes without fear.

We are very happy with our daughter’s English teacher, Laone, on Italki. She teaches engaging lessons twice a week, and our daughter really likes her English lessons, speaking a lot and learning a lot during these sessions.

I found behavior unprofessional. Ordering food in the middle of lesson and ending the lesson 10 minutes early because the tutor wanted to go eat. I paid for 60 minutes for a reason, and if I wanted 45 minutes, it would have been cheaper for me.
