I'm writing this second review for Giulia by way of follow-up to my June comments about her helping me with preparation for the CILS C2 exam. Well, I passed the test! Thanks so much for your great work, Giulia...your assistance was invaluable!

Great lesson with Giulia! We learned the vocabulary about family members. We also learned about reflexive verbs and did a listening exercise. Giulia noticed a mistake I was making with personal pronouns and reviewed the rules so that I understood, which was very helpful!

I strongly recommend Giulia for thoughtful, targeted lessons and test prep. I've had several tutors on italki for several languages. Generally, I find the most affordable teachers for informal speaking practice. This time, practicing for an Italian CILS exam, I was willing to pay a little more for more structured prep - Giulia's enthusiasm and professionalism justify that higher price point and then some. She takes organized notes, gives contextual feedback, and has a whole toolbox of methods to apply based on your specific goals. For personalized tutoring, you can't go wrong with Giulia.

Great lesson with Giulia! We had several conversations to practice using different verb forms. When I switched to English, Giulia would tell me that I know how to say that in Italian (and she's usually right). But, she observed that my responses are much more detailed than when I first started learning with her. We also did a refresh of the present subjunctive, which was very helpful. Giulia keeps motivating me to further progress!

Oggi ho imparato dei modi di dire italiani: per esempio dare pane al pane e scoprire l’acqua calda. Giulia mi ha fatto creare un esempio per ciascuno per vedere se capissi bene il senso. Molto divertente e utile!!!
