Hi, my name is Ivan. I'm from Hong Kong.
🧑🎓I graduated from SUNY at Albany, having studied Bachelor's in Geography and Urban Planning there.
📖Since I was young, I've been interested in linguistics, so I have learnt Chinese, Cantonese, English and some French.
🌏 Even though I'm from Hong Kong, I'm excited to learn more about what life is like in different parts of Mainland China.
🧳I am passionate in traveling the world. For example, in one particular trip to America, I drove from Albany, New York to visit my aunt, down to New Orleans, Louisiana and then up to Bellingham, Washington where I crossed into Vancouver, Canada.Öğretmen Olarak Ben
📝I hold a collection of TEFL certificates, including the 120-hour Advanced TEFL Certificate and specialized training in the Level 5 Award in Teaching English
💬I help beginner to pre-intermediate level young learners and professionals to improve their conversational and written English, so that they can use English with enhanced fluency. and develop their passion in geography.
🧑🏫My teaching journey has led me to opportunities such as volunteering as an online English tutor, where I had the privilege of working with two Ukrainian refugees separately since June 2023 and serving as a volunteer teacher’s assistant for Cantonese at a nonprofit in Hong Kong, engaging with ethnic minorities.Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım

The advantages of being my student are that I have a toolbox of creative resources and interactive activities, for example I use PremierTEFL's General English Online Lesson plan pack, a star to reward students for their good effort and paper objects such as handcrafted body parts. Volunteer English Teacher- Helped two adult refugee students, one upper-intermediate level and one pre-intermediate level, improve their English skills by being their speaking partner and teaching English File Pre-Intermediate, 4th edition via Skype for about one hour per week.
