I’m Liza, I’m your new Russian‑language teacher!
I was born in Russia’s far‑north Murmansk Region, spent years studying and working in vibrant Moscow, and have now settled in Tel Aviv – ginger cat in tow (he’s already mastered lounging in the Middle‑Eastern sun). Outside the classroom you’ll usually find me soaking up art exhibitions, experimenting in the kitchen, or planning my next trip to explore a new culture. I look forward to sharing language, stories, and a lot of curiosity with you this term.

9 years ago, I gave my very first Russian lesson in Hungary. Back then, I had no idea I’d fall head over heels for teaching. Since then I’ve guided different people from toddlers tracing their first Cyrillic letters to diplomats perfecting negotiation jargon and tech specialists prepping for Moscow relocations. I’ve created university electives, run intensive summer camps, and mentored fellow teachers, always adapting materials to each learner’s goals and interests.
Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım
My lessons revolve around real communication, because language should feel alive in your mouth, not frozen on a page. With absolute beginners we tackle grammar in tiny, humorous bites and short videos that turn mistakes into laughs, so progress feels like an adventure. Once you’re comfortable, we switch to content‑rich sessions—news articles, podcasts, YouTube clips, whatever’s trending that week—so your Russian grows in step with the world’s conversations. Drawing on my media background, I’m passionate about dismantling the tired “matryoshkas‑and‑bears” image; instead I’ll guide you through the Russia of panel blocks, pop bangers, and internet memes that make up daily life.

The Russian lesson with Liza was a solid session. Using images to practice "можно" and "нельзя" (can and cannot) is a very practical way to get used to how these words work in everyday settings like parks, libraries, or cafes.
The mix of verbs—like talking on the phone, eating breakfast, or walking the dog—makes the vocabulary feel relevant. It was also a good touch to include the short dialogues about asking questions in class and the timing of meals, as it adds a bit of natural flow to the grammar. It’s a straightforward, effective way to build up speaking confidence without overcomplicating things. Bit by bit (по чуть-чуть), the phrases are starting to stick.

This lesson with Liza was an exceptional and well-structured deep dive into the Russian language. She masterfully balanced essential grammar with engaging, interactive activities that made complex topics feel accessible and fun. The session was highly effective because of the practical grammar mastery. Using the question Где? (Where?), we practiced the prepositional case. The clear breakdown for masculine, neuter, and feminine nouns made understanding these endings much simpler. The word-search puzzle was a great way to memorize everyday locations like shop, pharmacy, and university. We moved from theory to practice by identifying where people work and spend their time, such as students walking in a park or studying at a university. The True or False section was a highlight, challenging us to use verbs correctly while debunking humorous stereotypes about students and businessmen. The personal introduction template provided a perfect framework for practicing speaking in a natural way.

Gradually harder and i need to think alot. Great training and hard to remember all words. Liza is patient and encouraging, at the same time as she expects me to do my best. Little by little my Russian is developing.

I really enjoyed today’s lesson. Elenas story provided a perfect framework to express the connection between professional life and personal wellness. I’m gaining confidence in reading Russian, I’m starting to understand more, and I’m trying to express myself more.
By analyzing the story together, I gained a clearer understanding of how to use time-specific adverbs like утром (in the morning) and ночью (at night) to accurately answer the question "Когда?".
Liza provided a highly structured curriculum that effectively demonstrated "first conjugation" verb patterns in a real-world context; I now feel confident using verbs like работать (to work), завтракать (to eat breakfast), and отдыхать (to rest) to describe a productive day.

Another great lesson with Liza. She's really challenging me to speak, and it just feels like a total emptiness in my head sometimes. I have many words, but it takes time to learn how to use them. And my process is not automated yet, so i have to search for each word. With Lizas help I'm able to have patience. I even learnt to propagate verbs according to the pronouns. That's beginning to get automated.
Tank you for this lesson also - I can absolutely reccomend Elizaveta to anyone learning Russian! 😊
