It’s hard to explain how good of a teacher Châu is. What sets her apart from many others? She is very good with the details — I mean, very good. She is thoughtful and genuinely wants you to understand any mistakes you might be making or grasp any new aspects of the language she is teaching you. She is never judgy, but always super friendly and a pleasant conversationalist. After a year and a half of weekly lessons with her, I still never dread them. I look forward to our classes! She has helped improve my Vietnamese a lot and I’m enjoying the journey. Again, it’s kinda hard to describe how good she is — you just have to book a class with her, see for yourself, and thank me later.

I have been learning Vietnamese with Châu for around 5 months now and I feel like my Vietnamese skills have improved greatly. We have had regularly 2-3 times a week short 30 min conversational Vietnamese lessons. During these we use Vietnamese to discuss wide range of topics, but usually focus on a single topic on each lesson. Châu is excellent at facilitating conversation. She also always adapts her speech speed and vocabulary to my level, which helps me to participate in conversation. If I want to say something more complicated or something I don't yet have the vocabulary to say, she helps me to say it. I also appreciate that she gives regular feedback on my pronunciation or grammar. In addition to all this, she is a kind, fun and encouraging person. And it's worth mentioning that her English is very good, which really helps explaining and understanding new concepts. So, if you are looking to improve your conversational Vietnamese skills, I would highly recommend Châu!

The lesson was very i formative on differences between norther and southern Vietnamese dialect. Language apps only focus on Northern Vietnamese. My lesson started with the vowels of the alphabet giving me a better understanding of why words sound certain ways. I enjoyed the class very much.

Châu is a super teacher, very diligent, very patient, and very creative in her teaching methods. I have been studying with Châu for almost two years now, and have progressed from knowing just a few words to being able to have a basic conversation on several topics. At first our lessons were 30 minutes long, 2 or 3 times a week. Recently, as my vocabulary has expanded, our lessons have been one hour long. Châu adjusts her teaching style to your ability. Her patience, and focus on correcting pronunciation, means that every minute of the lesson is productive. Lessons are supplemented with homework and advice on learning more effectively. Vietnamese is not an easy language to learn but Châu is a brilliant teacher to guide you on your learning journey.

Chau is a fantastic, patient, friendly tutor with great attention to detail! In our first lesson, she guided me through pronunciation and the alphabet, and quickly adapted to my current knowledge of Vietnamese. She takes into account your preferred learning style and I had a great first lesson with her! I highly recommend taking her language classes!

Châu is a wonderful teacher. Every week she finds different topics to talk about and continually keeps things interesting. Châu will help with pronunciations, expanding your vocabulary, and will even find videos to help you with listening.
