My approach is based on what has worked for me in the past, what the experts say works, but also whatever your preferred methods may be. It is clear to me that the best way to make progress is to cater lessons to learners' interests, so that they can put into practice what they've learned in the contexts that make the most sense for them.
I have received formal training in English language education for adults (CELTA) and have recently finished my Master of Teaching, so I am trained in a range of methods to help you reach your goals. Based on your needs I can adapt a range of materials to improve your target areas. Whether you want to improve your reading, writing, listening, or speaking (ideally all of the above!), we will find an approach that suits you and helps you progress.
Our goal will be to get you to produce as much of the language as possible, with as little of me as possible - I want you to show off! For better or for worse, there is nothing like trying out the language for yourself to get things to stick once and for all. The less we fear mistakes, the better language users we become.

Today I had a very informative lesson with Ethan. Ethan helped me understand several behavioral patterns in Australia's online marketplaces. Ethan continued to improve my speech by helping me find more appropriate phrases.

Another great lesson. Ethan did a great job of describing the differences in phrases that are difficult for me to understand. We had a casual conversation, during which Ethan corrected my mistakes, making my speech more natural.
