Olá! 😊 I’m Lydie, a Portuguese teacher from the beautiful coastal city of Setúbal. Teaching languages is not just my job — it’s my passion. Portuguese is my native language, and I also speak English, Romanian and some French, so I understand exactly what it feels like to learn a language from scratch. My goal is simple: help you speak Portuguese with confidence, clarity and joy. I’ve been teaching Portuguese since 2016 and I frequently collaborate with several educational institutions, including Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I hold a postgraduate degree in Teaching Portuguese as a Non-Native Language, as well as TEFL and TEYL certificates. I’ve taught hundreds of students from all over the world, from beginners to advanced learners. My strength is making grammar simple, building real conversation skills, and guiding you step by step until you feel at home in Portuguese. My lessons are friendly, structured and 100% tailored to your goals. I use a communicative approach so you start speaking from the first class. Lydie is the best foreign language speaker I have ever had. Over the years I have struggled to learn a second language. I grew up in the U.S. when learning a second language was rare and so I had limited classes in school. Lydie has given me the confidence and thus the motivation to learn Portuguese. I know I can do it thanks to her.
