I'm Keith , a native English speaker originally from London but now living in Brighton on the south coast of England with my 2 dogs. I've been studying Brazilian Portuguese since 2015. So I know how challenging learning another language can be. I'm relaxed, patient & friendly. I can give you advice, answer questions, help with grammar as well as anything else you need. I've always loved learning a second language, and I have plenty of experience helping others with their English too. This passion led me to earn my TEFL qualification in 2017 and later become a community tutor on italki, where I support learners in reaching their language goals. In 2025, I published my first book, The Adventure of James & the Black Cat, designed for Portuguese speakers learning English. I was looking for someone to talk with on a regular basis so I could get used to talking with a native English speaker and boy, did I get one. It feels like I'm in a time warp whenever we talk because time goes by in a flash and before you know it, an hour has gone. We'd normally just skype and talk about nonsense but if you need a more structured lesson from Keith, I'm sure he can accommodate that - just let him know! - but for now, I like my lessons like I like my shopping trips to Sephora - unplanned, fun, and I always end up getting more things than I should out of it.

Keith is an amazing person, very open and warm. He makes you feel at ease and willing to speak. The lesson feels like a chat with a friend, which makes it for the perfect kind of conversation. Keith was just amazing! The lesson was exactly what I expected. Not only the best way to keep practicing,but also a good company to spend a lovely half an hour with someone funny and easy to talk to. I will repeat for sure!!
