Hi! Hola! I’m a TEFL-certified English Teacher currently based in Canada. I’m British-born, a Canadian citizen, a mom of 2, and a fourth-year university student working toward becoming a certified in-person teacher here as well. I study Sociology and Political Science with a minor in East Asian Studies. I taught on italki between 2018-2024, and now I'm back! I’m very involved in my community. I work as an event coordinator for cultural festivals and community organizations, as well as my own walking group for newcomers.

I want you to be comfortable and at ease. This will help you talk better, if you are nervous you will make more mistakes. You are welcome to ask me any questions as it is important to build trust between teacher/student, and I will be asking you lots of questions myself. I am here to build your confidence, but please remember if you are serious about improving, you need to study at home outside of lessons.

In my lessons I want to get you talking as much as possible, while also trying to provide you with a challenge in talking about some topical and difficult subjects. I usually provide some material to do this with, either before or in class, such as news articles and videos. I am here to correct your mistakes and give ALL my students feedback, in the form of Google Docs.
I can help you in specific areas: pronunciation, exam preparation, job interviews, etc

It is always a pleasure having a lesson with Rebecca. She is kind and has a great personality. Even though there are lots of teachers on Italki Rebecca is one of the better and sensible options to choose.
