Hello, I am a native German speaker and due to my studies in London, I am also fluent in English. I'm currently studying French on Italki which I enjoy a lot, but it also makes me aware of how difficult it can be to learn another language. I love to read a good book, work out and travel as much as possible whenever I can find time for it.

I have a very student-driven teaching style. That means you can let me know if you prefer conversational practice or need help preparing for a language exam. I want you to feel comfortable during our lessons, so I provide my students with the resources and support they need. I have a lot of patience, so don’t worry if you are a beginner. During our first lesson, I want to discuss your goals and see what level you are currently at. That helps me get an idea of what you expect from our lessons and how I can help you improve. I can prepare guided lessons if that makes my students feel more comfortable, but I‘m also happy just to have simple conversations (that helped me a lot to improve my French). After each lesson, I can give you an article to read, a video to watch or a podcast to listen to, so we have a subject to discuss in our next lesson. We can also go through mock exams or exercises to improve your grammar and vocabulary.5.0

I can warmly recommend Annalena to anyone who wants to prepare for the Goethe B1 exam.
In only about 10 lessons she gave me confidence and prepared me for all aspects of the exam. We focused the whole time on making the most progress to pass the exam. Before each lesson I had exercises to read and listen to at home. Each lesson was clearly structured and the time was used optimally. We practiced speaking and mastered writing by reviewing what I had written as homework.
Annalena was incredibly accommodating with the scheduling, especially with the appointment the day before the exam.
Annalena speaks German very clearly and at a pace that was easy for me to understand. She also explained the grammar points in a way that made them easy to learn.
Thank you to Annalena’s excellent guidance, I felt confident and well prepared for the B1 Goethe exam. I recommend her to anyone looking for a first class German tutor!
