Kiny

I grew up with Cantonese in the household but unfortunately lost a lot of that skillset when I was put in ESL classes. I'm re-learning now and it can be quite a frustrating journey trying to gain back what I've forgotten. So, I'm glad I have Kiny as a teacher since she's very patient! Her lessons are structured well. I like learning the formal/"correct" way as well as the slang/everyday usage. As a result of my lessons so far, I have felt more comfortable trying to practice at dim sum or with my family. There's still a long ways for me to go, but I'm grateful to learn from Kiny and for her guidance :) It's helpful to be able to practice in our lessons together.

I am overwhelming thankful for Kiny through my Cantonese journey! I just passed my Cantonese qualification test for work! Woohoo! Kiny is responsible, caring, organized, patient, caring, and playful! Passing the exam is just the beginning, I will continue learning Cantonese, and will be so happy to know that I have Kiny to help me along the way!

Pretty cool first lesson in Cantonese! I've been learning Mandarin for several years, so I was able to pick up the basics much quicker than if I was starting from scratch. We covered the various tones in Cantonese and pronunciation of words, as well as some basic vocab. My feeling after the lesson is that it would not be difficult for me to learn Cantonese, but I will need to do a lot of practice, to be able to remember everything correctly, and speak correctly. 我会加油，谢谢老师

I feel more confident about learning Cantonese after this lesson and have signed up for more. The lesson was well-structured while also already trying to speak more naturally. This teaching approach works well for me :)

Kiny is a fantastic teacher. She has been teaching me Cantonese for about a year, and learning from her is always a pleasure. Not only does she go through the basics thoroughly, but she also teaches the colloquialisms and culture, which is crucial for this language. She is also very friendly and helpful, and accommodates my learning needs as necessary. Highly recommended, 10/10. :)
