Mai

Mai always is prepared with a lot of helpful material. She always practices with you to make sure you understand and always has multiple conversations with you to help you really learn. I appreciate how patient she is with me when I forgot some words, don't understand what she says, or just can't pronounce correct. She is encouraging and really makes me feel relaxed when learning. I look forward to our future lessons and hope I can improve more to make her proud!

The materials Mai made and uses to teach are excellent at developing a solid foundation with conversation points, grammar, and vocabulary and then building on this with each lesson. With each lesson, I'm able to combine what I've learned in past lessons with new material each lesson and speak in increasingly more complex sentences. Because of this, I've gotten more comfortable speaking only in Vietnamese during lessons.

Mai not only teaches very well with great reviews and materials but she also is very flexible. Often I’ll have last minute things happen and she’s always so nice to try and work around my hectic schedule.

Ms. Mai is an excellent teacher! She is an expert on grammar, supportive and encouraging, and always well prepared. The lessons are low pressure, yet challenging. She has a general lesson plan and overall progression prepared, including PowerPoint slides and exercises. But, each lesson is customized based on my strengths, weaknesses, and goals. (As a beginner, my goal is conversational speaking and writing.) Lessons strike a good balance between new material and review. And, they include practice conversations to help integrate the new vocabulary with words I've already learned and to practice speaking and listening. She is very good at answering questions and explaining the nuances of Vietnamese, in understandable terms. Her spoken English is excellent. I feel like I've learned a lot in our dozen or so lessons so far, and I look forward to continuing to learn Vietnamese from her!

Mai is a great teacher, kind and understanding

Mai has been wonderful at teaching my daughter. She has a set curriculum she uses and shares the vocabulary and lesson plans. She’s always responsive when I have a question regarding my daughters progress.
