Hi, I’m Raciel, a professional Spanish teacher from Mexico with over eight years of experience teaching students from different backgrounds and levels. I hold a degree in Language and Literature, and my professional experience includes university-level teaching, editorial work, translation, and literary writing. This background has given me a deep understanding of Spanish grammar, structure, style, and nuance.
I help students speak Spanish with clarity, confidence, and cultural awareness. My lessons are structured, thoughtful, and adapted to each learner’s goals, whether you want to improve conversation, grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, or your understanding of Spanish as it is spoken in Mexico and Latin America.
In class, we work with real language: conversation, guided grammar practice, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening activities, audiovisual resources, and carefully selected texts, including cultural and literary materials when appropriate. I like to create lessons that are clear, challenging, and meaningful, so students can make steady progress without feeling lost.
I am also a published poet, with three books published in Mexico and Spain, and I bring that sensitivity to language into my teaching. For me, Spanish is not only a system of rules, but a living language connected to culture, expression, and real communication.

I began lessons with Raciel knowing only light vocabulary words and key phrases. In 40 lessons of working with him, I can now communicate independently and feel prepared to go live in Mexico and receive further schooling there.
I have learning disabilities with language and Raciel is a very kind, patient, and encouraging tutor. It is obvious he is not only passionate about the Spanish language itself but also teaching and sharing his language and culture with others.
He strikes the perfect balance between pushing me to improve and giving the support I need to get there. Every lesson felt purposeful, and I felt stronger and more confident speaking each lesson. When he would notice I was having anxiety or issues he was quick to notice, explain, and slow down in the way that was best for me.
If you want a tutor who truly tailors each lesson to YOU, your personality, your level, and your interests, Raciel is that guy.
I truly could not recommend him more highly.

Language learning is a slow journey and Raciel is an excellent guide to navigate the wild adventure that is Spanish conjugation. I have been learning with Raciel for over a year and have noticed a considerable improvement in receptive understanding and my ability to communicate. Raciel has the patience of a saint while I stumble through sentences and always explains why one phrase or structure may be better to use. He is methodical and thoughtful in his explanations and uses a combination of traditional homework, on screen text to practice and discuss, and good old conversation. If you’re looking for a great teacher, Raciel is your guy!
