Hello! I’m Annie, a Jamaican TEFL teacher with 5+ years of experience helping students master IELTS speaking, business English, and fluent conversation. My goal is to help you speak English with confidence by improving your fluency. All classes are tailored to your specific needs, time, and interests. I use the communicative approach, which is based on the idea that learning a language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. Hence, classes focus primarily on conversational English. In this approach, the objective is to present a topic in context to the learner as naturally as possible, as this is a highly effective way to help the language acquisition process. Our first lesson will focus on your English goals and the creation of a specific plan to help you achieve those goals. All lessons are tailored to meet the needs of each student and are presented in a manner that allows you to feel comfortable, ask questions, and express yourself. The structure of my lessons and courses contains a functional syllabus alongside a focus on a grammatical syllabus, thus providing learners with communicatively useful expressions together with a structured syllabus with a clear sense of progression.
