Hi! I'm Nessma, a passionate language teacher.
Outside of teaching, I’m someone who loves languages, cultures, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I have a deep passion for linguistics and enjoy learning new languages myself—I’m currently exploring German, Turkish, and French! In my free time, I love reading, especially about mythology and history, and I also have a keen interest in fitness and healthy living. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I’m always looking for new ways to grow and challenge myself. Nessma helps me so much to speak the Egyptian Arabic language and to really hone in on the concepts that I don't understand well so that I can make the correction and use the phrase or sentence structure correctly the next time. It has been such an amazing experience working with her for over a year. Her grace and understanding and patience when I sometimes ask her to explain the same concept over again is astounding. She understands English exceptionally well and always tries to convey what the Arabic meaning would be in English so that it can be contextualized for my understanding. She truly is the best Arabic teacher I've ever had and am so privileged that I can learn from her multiple times a week.

Nessma helped me to understand some new phrases that I've always wanted to know how to say in Egyptian Arabic. She also reminded me of some phrases and verbs we have gone over in the past as a refresher. I was glad to learn how strong consonants in Arabic also change the emphasis on other accents in a word in Arabic too. She gave me several examples of this and it was nice to see that. I feel more and more confident in speaking Arabic all the time.

I took about 10 Arabic lessons with Nessma before going on vacation to Egypt. Nessma is an amazing teacher! She is kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and really goes above and beyond for her students. She customized the lessons to exactly what I needed to know for my trip. I would recommend her to anyone. 'Alfi shukr Nessma!

As always, Nessma is so great! I messaged her a few hours before my lesson today to ask if we could cover a specific topic that I enjoy speaking about in English; she put together a lesson for it right away! I'm working with Nessma to study for my upcoming Arabic exam with another Arabic program--I provided the textbook and she's been really incredible about going through the lessons thoroughly and at a pace that's good for me. She's incredible about checking in about my understanding before moving on to a new chapter or topic and it's been so helpful working with her!
