i had a wonderful first lesson with moon 선생님! 😊
i have been self-studying korean for years because of my love for bts and korean culture, so it meant a lot to hear compliments on my reading speed and pronunciation from a native korean teacher. it made me feel more confident and excited to continue learning.
tagalog is my native language, and i really appreciated that moon 선생님 has experience teaching filipinos. being able to connect korea and the philippines through language made the lesson feel very natural and comfortable, and we connected right away.
this was my first time learning with an actual teacher, and i finally feel like i have proper guidance and a strong foundation. i had so much fun and plan to become a regular student. i am so happy i found moon 선생님 and can fit lessons into my busy work schedule. highly recommended! 💜
감사합니다 선생님! i’m excited to learn with you. i hope i can become a student you’ll be proud of as we begin this journey together! 😊

Our lesson on cooking coincided with Chuseok, so we also talked about the foods that are prepared for the holiday. I really like how Teacher Moon incorporates history and culture with the language lessons.

I’ve officially completed 10 lessons with 문선생님, totaling 10 hours! Although I already knew Hangul and had spent years listening to BTS, my grammar and vocabulary were basically zero. I could recognize Korean sounds and words but had no idea what they meant. I’d tried self-studying before, but always got bored and unmotivated.
Fast forward to now, and I can make my own sentences and have simple, casual conversations! Even while listening to BTS at work, I’ll hear words like “들어” (듣다) or “공부해” and suddenly recognize something I learned in class. I check the Korean lyrics, and I WAS RIGHT! 😭
I’ve also started journaling in Korean to express myself, and I’m genuinely surprised by how far I’ve come. 문선생님 has given my years of listening to BTS a whole new meaning, and I’ve never been more excited or motivated to continue learning Korean! She makes it so fun!! On top of having conversations during class, she also practices my reading so I can get more comfortable reading hangul. 문선생님, 짱! ♡

선생님 is alway's great, I love my lessons with her, I usually come prepared with pictures of things I've done or cooked and we chat all about them, and she gives me lots of insight into korean culture. I always finish my lessons feeling like I've learned a little more Korean and come away even more confident.

Sarah is a great and patient teacher. I have had six lessons so far and they have been really helpful in learning and understanding Korean. Everytime I feel like I am not learning anything or I feel like Korean is too hard. Sarah helps remind me how far I have come. She uses every day situations to help remember what I’m learning. I am really enjoying the lessons. But, I do practice really hard in between the lessons! Thats very important if you want to learn a language. Practice! I am happy I picked Sarah. She is perfect for my learning style. I highly recommend, this is my first language I am learning (I am bilingual so it does help). My lessons are always fun for me, thank you Sarah! I hope to become fluent one day!

Sometimes I think I understand what the teacher is saying, but then I realize i completely misunderstood and said something strange in response. Teacher Moon is very kind about explaining where I went off track, and saying it again slower or simpler so i get my confidence back.
