¡Hola! I'm Paloma from Oaxaca, México. I'm an interpreter, artist and traveler.
Currently I live in the Patagonia ARG, I moved here because I fell for the mountains and lakes but I still love to share about my México. I really enjoy ecotourism, trekking and camping, kayaking, trapece, reading tarot, growing my veggies, writting, diys, making bread and building my house from 0 :D (and cats, I love cats)
I started teaching Spanish by sharing my culture with friends I made while traveling around and exploring my own city, we used to do language exchanges on coffee shops, museums and later on a spanish school opened the doors for us weekly. Just a few years ago I dicovered italki.

I'm a very friendly, outgoing and patient person. I love learning through conversation. I'm always making questions and curious about who my students are, using spanish as a tool to exchange mindsets, knowledge, experiences, culture and more.
If you're looking for someone to practice your conversational skills, I'm your perfect match!
I can teach you idioms and slang if you want to sound more natural, or if you're looking for a diplomatic vocabulary I can teach you that as well.
If required I'll point grammar mistakes on words and phrases, but kindly I promise. Everything is for your improvement!
I'm so excited and honored to help you on your way to fluency :D

Derslerim ve öğretme tarzım
Usually, I'd like to focus on natural conversation as that's been the practical aproach I use myself to learn languages, we will talk about daily life, news, hobbies, personal interest, etc.
However, if you're starting from scratch we'll study Spanish foundations first and eventually we will get to small talk and conversations.
I encourage my students to make questions, not only about Spanish learning but Mexican/LATAM culture and any other topic they're interested about.
You will be able to reach me anytime of the day via Italki messages :) (So you don't have to wait to our next lesson to ask questions).
Together we can find and build a plan to make your learning fun and rich.

Paloma is full of energy, has the patience that a teacher needs. She cares not just to teach you, but also for your well-being. I've been enjoying having her as my tutor for 3 weeks now. The materials we study with are always engaging, and beneficial to my development. Looking forward to the future!

Had a wonderful trial lesson with Paloma! She is incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming and I instantly felt comfortable with her. I appreciated her patience with me as my Spanish is very rusty. I am already planning to book my next lesson with her!

I had an amazing trial lesson with Paloma! She was so friendly, supportive, and enthusiastic. I'm preparing for an upcoming trip to Oaxaca and had specific questions about culture and some indigenous arts, and she was happy to share info, including some from her academic research. She explained unfamiliar vocabulary, patiently listened to my fumblings, and made corrections as needed. The conversation felt warm and natural, which is exactly what I need to build confidence and vocabulary before my trip. I'm really looking forward to my next conversation.
