I've been taking Cantonese lessons with Fafa on italki for some time now, and I can wholeheartedly recommend her to any learner - beginner or advanced. She is incredibly engaging and highly skilled at teaching. One of the things I appreciate most is that she uses Jyutping, which makes pronunciation so much easier to learn, and she also includes the special characters that are unique to spoken Cantonese. This has really helped me to connect with the language as it’s actually used. Fafa is not only knowledgeable about Cantonese itself but she also has a broad understanding of many different topics, so conversations with her are always interesting and fun. She's quick to adapt, easy to talk to, and creates a relaxed learning atmosphere. Her lessons are never dull, and I always leave with more confidence and clarity. If you're serious about learning Cantonese - or just want a fun, effective, and culturally rich way to start - Fafa is the perfect teacher for you.

I've been taking classes with Eva for almost a year now and from the first class, it was like I was talking to a friend. She has helped me so much. She teaches me vocabulary and helps me practice my Mandarin and we always have a fun conversation! Eva is awesome! Tons of fun and also keeps the flow going as to not waste time. Gives cool interesting insights into Chinese culture as well which further helps connect you to what you are learning. Enjoying my time learning with her.

I decided to begin to learn mandarin in my 70s because my daughter-in-law is Chinese. Learning a language can be challenging at any age, and Mandarin seemed daunting. I was lucky to find Eva. She has made learning enjoyable, relaxing and fun. She is able to tailor lessons to my needs, and her explanations of grammar are clear and understandable. She is patient, and will make sure I understand a concept even if we have to repeat it. She also helps with pronunciation, which is particularly difficult because of the tones. We are getting ready to take a family trip to China, and Eva has helped me prepare by giving me lesson materials specifically targeting my conversational goals.
