I'm Lyndon, and for the past 14 years, I've been teaching students in Filipino/Tagalog, Waray, and English. I offer a variety of classes that are all customized to match your goals and needs. You can get my assistance with vocabulary devt., grammar, oral fluency, reading, and writing. My classes are designed to help you improve your communication skills by getting you involved in interesting discussions, exercises, and conversations about a variety of subjects, including culture, travel, visiting friends and family, interests, and anything else you can think of. I enjoy learning and teaching a lot. I have a Doctorate in Education, a Master's in Public Mgmt., and a Bachelor's in Education.Öğretmen Olarak Ben
What I appreciate most about teaching is my students. I like conversing with them, learning from them, and supporting them in grasping the subject matter of any course. At the elementary, high school, and university levels, I've taught students ranging from beginners to advanced. For a few years, I also served as a mentor to university student teachers.
My hobbies include listening to music, watching films & documentaries, sports, traveling both locally and abroad, and meeting people from various cultural backgrounds and interests. What about you? Learning Filipino (Tagalog)/Waray in my class would be much more enjoyable and interesting since I incorporate Philippine culture, traditions, values, and much more. I guarantee that we will learn extremely useful words, phrases, sentences, grammar in Tagalog, Waray & English. We'll be doing discussion and reading articles, poetry, and songs. We may also talk about things like travel, visiting someone, dining, work, emergency situations, and so forth.

TEFL Certificate of Completion - TEFL Professional Development Institute - 2020What was required to get the TEFL Certificate of Completion is to finish the 120 Hour Course just like the TESOL. Study and take the quiz of each module, then take final test. Taking the TEFL Course enabled to equipped my knowledge on learning strategies and different teaching methods that I can apply to diverse learners in international teaching. In the classes I've had with Lyndon, he has consistently had an amazing attitude and been very supported of my journey learning Tagalog. His materials are effective and he makes sure that you understand everything with spaced repetition to increase retention. In my classes, he is using real-world examples to help me learn so that I can connect grammar concepts and vocabulary to something tangible. I will definitely continue lessons with him!

As an educator, I value teacher Lyndon's style of teaching. He is always using formative assessment to gather information to make the learning experience more enriched. Something as seemingly simple as the teaching strategy of KWL- what I know, what I want to know and what we will learn- goes a long way for me in making this process feel less static/ less like learning from a book. He is witty, funny, calming, reassuring and very knowledgeable about his subject matter. He makes sure that you have time to share your insights on various topics- things about your country, your family, culture. He gives many chances to practice speaking- pronunciation, reading, dialogue. He allows you as a reader to auto-correct while gently assisting at words you might struggle with. He adjusts learning objectives in real time to ensure that the lesson is an overall success. He is not afraid of feed-forward/ feedback. Overall, this is the mark of an excellent teacher.

Before I found Lyndon, I never thought that I would ever be able to speak Tagalog as well as I can now. Lyndon is an amazing teacher who has helped me learn Tagalog all the way to a conversational level in way less time than I could have ever expected. I highly recommend that anyone looking to learn Tagalog books a lesson with him; nothing I write in a review could ever do him justice.
