Hi, I'm Alice. My Chinese name is Xiuxia. I'm from China. I'm accredited with a Celta (from Cambridge University) and a certificate in teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, as well as a first-class degree in digital education from the University of Manchester. I'm both a Chinese Mandarin and an English teacher for over 10 years. I was a corporate English teacher for 3 years, teaching general English and business English in companies including Intel, Huawai, Shangrila Hotels, Hainan Airlines etc; then helped students from training schools and high schools with their IELTS and TOEFL preparations, and now I have students at Oxford University, Imperial College London, etc. Then I worked for a university based in China, teaching general English, IELTS, TOEFL, and Chinese Mandarin. Teaching English to Speakers of Adults - Cambridge University - 2020For non English native speakers, trainees have to reach C2 level in English to pass the pre-course tests and during the course, trainees need to accomplish 120 hours training.
PS. I attended the training last month, so the certificate takes 4-6 weeks to be delivered.

Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages - International Profession Certification Association - 2019I trained for 120 hours in Chinese grammar, teaching methods, etc, then followed this with practiced teaching 6 hours once a week for 3 months. This was my first lesson and everything was perfect. Alice was on time and organized and completely ready. She quickly assessed my skills and adapted to make sure we focused on the areas where I need more practice and instruction. She gave me good hints (that I've not seen in books or elsewhere) to help with improving my mistakes and weak areas. I'm looking forward to more classes with her and I will make good progress in my Chinese with her as my teacher.
