Hi, my name is Elsa. I was born and raised in a Mayan community in Guatemala. I enjoy meeting new people because it's fascinating to listen to their experiences and goals in life. I consider myself a patient and passionate teacher. I understand the struggles that sometimes come with the learning process, but I also know the rewarding results after some practice. Talking about a wide variety of topics is one of my favorite parts of teaching because, as an open-minded person, I like learning from my students' points of view about all kinds of subjects. Conversations are one of the most important elements of my classes. After some grammar, I like my students to use what they learn by speaking and making connections with their personal or professional experiences. I think grammar is important because it is a shortcut to understand the structure and patterns of a language. K'iche' is such a different language to anything I have studied but Elsa makes the process go very smoothly. She's an excellent teacher and has lots of resources and materials, in a world where it is hard to find resources for K'iche'.
