My name is Annemarie and I currently live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have around 23 years of general teaching experience as well as 3 years as an Italki Conversational language teacher. My hobbies include hiking, reading and watching good films. I have been married for 48 years and I have two children as well as two grandchildren. I am passionate about my work and it gives me such joy to assist my students to speak English or Afrikaans fluently. I would describe my teaching style as very interactive. I prefer to create a teaching environment that encourages critical thinking and elicits responses from my students rather than having them merely retain and repeat information. My lessons are tailor made to suite the individual needs of my students. My lessons are interactive and inclusive and I take on a conversational approach rather than a lecturing approach. My lessons depend on the interests and goals of my students.
