Meg

I find lessons with Meg really relaxed and fun. She is very patient and supportive, and gives enough time to remember phrases I've already learned. She often brings some little fun ideas into lessons to make them more fun. Overall, highly recommend!

Meg is an exceptional teacher. She was born and raised in Japan, and she has experienced a variety of cultures as a result of traveling to many countries around the world. Because of that, she understands the nuances of Eastern and Western culture well. During lessons, this helps her bridge the gap in understanding between my preconceived notions and the reality of Japanese culture and language. In terms of lessons, she encourages a free flowing and fluid conversation structure, encouraging you to try new sentence formations and reinforcing previous grammatical lessons she taught you before. I thoroughly enjoy lessons with Meg because I am able to use and learn words and phrases I would utilize in day to day life. Starting from absolute zero, I would say my comfort with speaking Japanese has increased significantly, and I’m happy to say that the 10+ lessons I’ve taken with her were absolutely worth it!

Meg-san is a great teacher that really cares about her students. She is very encouraging, thoughtful, and tries to make each lesson at the level where you feel like you are learning, while still being challenging. She often takes time out of her own day to help with questions outside of our normal lessons. Each lesson she is always kind, energetic, and happy to help. She is also very knowledgeable about both the Genki textbooks and the JLPT exams, which helps if you are focused on either. I'm really thankful that I found Meg-san, as I feel that she has helped immensely with improving my Japanese.

I always have such a positive experience in my lessons with Meg. She is very encouraging and is a natural teacher. I really appreciate her explanations when I am working on a challenging grammar point or difficult vocabulary.

The audio and video quality was not very good during the lesson. The video and audio kept freezing making the lesson very hard to get through. There was a lot of background noise as well so it was hard to understand what was being said and to focus. I'm not sure if it was the internet side or from iTalki, but it was a frustrating lesson.
