Hi, my name is Mika 👋
I have a passion for languages and teaching 👩🏻🏫

I study linguistics and Korean at the University of Bochum.
In my free time I do music 🎶 watch Star Wars ✨ eat good food 🍜

I'm easy going and open minded. I've been a teacher on italki for quite a while now and it never gets boring. I love that I can meet so many people from different countries and cultures through my classes. The best part of teaching is seeing my students make progress and their joy about it. It really puts a smile on my face to see the excitement in their eyes. 🤩 I'm passionate about teaching, very patient and will cheer and encourage you to keep going. My class is a safe space where you can speak comfortably without the fear of being judged. Often we think: "I don't know how to say this." or "I can't do it.". But from experience I can tell you: You know more than you think you do! Just give it a go! 💪Don't be afraid of mistakes, we can learn a lot from them. And if you struggle, I will help with grammar & vocabulary guide you through out the conversation. 🤓

- Do you teach children? - No. I only teach adults (18 < ).
- Do you teach total beginners? - No. I'm not a professional teacher hence I'm not qualified to teach German from scratch.

Mika is always super nice and interesting to talk to! My german level is not so good and she still manages to get the best conversation out of it. It is just like talking to a friend. I feel I have improved so much since having my lessons with her. Please just don´t book all of her hours cause I really need her ;)

When I started lessons with Mika, I couldn’t even have simple conversations in German. But in just a short time, she helped me speak confidently! Her lessons are effective, fun, and perfectly structured for speaking practice. I’m so grateful for her support and will definitely keep learning with her. Highly recommended!

Mika has always been the best partner to practice my rusted German. She is very gentle and calm, and is patient enough to wait for me to complete a sentence. This all makes up a nice cozy atmosphere to open up and talk about everything - über Gott und die Welt. ;-) Highly recommended! ✨

Das Gespräch war sehr interessant. Ich mache noch viele Fehler beim Sprechen, aber Mika ist sehr geduldig und hilft mir, die richtigen Sätze im Dokument als Notizen festzuhalten. Das ist toll. Danke schön!
