Hello, my name’s Joe. I’m a professional English teacher with a CELTA qualification and nine years of experience. Before moving into education, I worked as a corporate lawyer specialising in business law.

I was a corporate lawyer for five years, a university lecturer in business English for three, and a teacher for some of the world’s largest companies. I've taught English in Japan since 2016. My lessons are enjoyable, discussion-based, and focused on helping you speak as much as possible. I ask the questions — you do the talking. During the lesson, I take detailed notes and use a range of correction techniques to improve your accuracy, both in real time and after you speak. Each day I wrote more than a hundred professional letters and emails, negotiated with other lawyers, reported to executives, directors, CEO's and business owners and often gave speeches and made persuasive arguments in court.
