Renu Nanda

In just a few classes I have made significant improvement in my ability to speak Tamil! Renu does a compbination of grammar lessons and open-ended conversation, so you get to learn the rules and also practice speaking. I would recommend her to anyone!

Renu was very fun to learn from. She clearly enjoys teaching! I enjoyed the fast pace of the class and was able to write down a LOT of new vocabulary. Had a little trouble understanding some explanations but she was able to slow things down or switch to English when I got overwhelmed. This was my first time having conversation mostly in Tamil. It was hard but I'm really looking forward to the next class! As Renu says, practice practice practice!!!! :)

I really enjoy these classes with Renu ! I am almost a complete beginner in Tamil but she is super patient and encouraging, and really really kind teacher. I have just had 7 classes but I already feel like I've learnt and improved a lot. Thank you Renu :)

I’ve been taking Tamil lessons with this Rena , just now and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From the very first session, it was clear that she not only knows the language deeply, but also understands how to teach it in a way that feels natural, engaging, and completely tailored to my pace. Her explanations are incredibly clear, and she breaks down even the most complex grammar or pronunciation nuances into simple, manageable steps. The patience she brings to every lesson is remarkable—she never rushes, always encourages questions, and creates a comfortable environment where learning Tamil actually feels fun. What really sets her apart is her passion. She genuinely cares about her students' progress and celebrates every improvement, whether it’s mastering a new letter in the alphabet or forming full sentences with confidence. The worksheets, audio clips, and structured lesson plans are all thoughtfully prepared and extremely helpful.

I came back after a short gap and Renu was able to pace the lesson to catch me back up to where I was. She is such a good teacher!

Renuka is an absolutely wonderful teacher - she takes time to ensure you understand the material and you can tell she genuinely cares about the progress you make/are making. i have only had a few lessons so far but i feel like i've learnt so much from her and look forward to future lessons. she is very flexible all round, whether that be with her timings or the way she will explain things in a different way if you don't understand. i can understand a little tamil already, but even if i didn't her lessons would still be just as accessible. i cannot wait to eventually be fluent from our lessons. romba nandri renu!!
