Beryl is a very wonderful teacher. I am so glad that I found her on iTalki! She is friendly, encouraging, helpful and funny. Her lessons are structured, she provides helpful feedback, and sends me helpful materials to practice off of. I would highly recommend anyone interested in learning Chinese to take lessons with her.

Always a nice session with Beryl. I still have much to learn and improve upon, but I never feel scrutinized or dumb when I'm in class with her. She helps facilitate easygoing conversations with useful everyday phrases in an natural manner. I look forward to attending another class with her.

She always makes you feel comfortable and at ease when speaking and she teaches you so many new words / ways of saying things that have helped me improve my grasp of the language (we discuss everything from politics to star signs to menus in restaurants!). Beryl was punctual and used Chinese for the entire lesson, which helped me stay immersed in the language. She's an attentive listener—when I suggested using Google Docs, she adapted immediately. Unlike other teachers who end at 50-55 minutes, Beryl teaches the full hour and finishes on time. Her corrections are gentle and constructive; I never felt discouraged when making mistakes. After the lesson, she sends an MP3 recording so I can practice listening to authentic Taiwanese Mandarin pronunciation. She's patient, keeps conversation flowing naturally, and for advanced learners, she maintains full Chinese immersion without English translations. What stood out: she started by asking why I'm learning Chinese, then tailored the lesson accordingly. If you want a teacher who respects your time, adapts to your needs, and creates a supportive learning environment, Beryl delivers.
