Hi, my name is David, I’m from Brazil. I teach both Portuguese and English here on Italki, and I’ve been working here since 2021. I love helping people unlock their language skills for travel, work, and lifestyle. Outside the classroom, I’m really passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — it keeps me focused, disciplined, and always improving. I also love music, especially rock and metal, and skateboard. Movies, TV series, and video games are part of my world, and I enjoy traveling whenever I can. In my lessons, I bring the same energy, creativity, and passion that I put into everything I do. I’ve been teaching Portuguese and English since 2011, starting in São Paulo with foreign students who wanted to learn Portuguese for daily life. My classes focus on conversation, listening, vocabulary, and grammar in a practical way. Since 2015, I’ve taught students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. We had a great trial lesson. The conversation felt surprisingly easy and natural, but I also learned a few new words/phrases in that short time! I also enjoyed learning a bit more about the area of Brazil where he is from. I look forward to having more lessons with him!

A great trial to what promises to be a very interactive and in-depth learning experience. I really appreciated the balance between learning vocabulary through screen sharing and having the opportunity to have a free-flow conversation afterwards. Looking forward to the next lesson
