I like to keep a mixture of fun and professional, in other words that I like to keep things fun and in a positive light where a joke is definitely possible. However, when it comes down to it I am serious in my desire to teach other people some of my languages and cultures.

Self-Taught Polyglot Throughout the last five years I've taught Spanish, Dutch, German, French and English to over 250 students. Across the years I have been lucky enough to work with students from South & North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Since I'm self taught, I know exactly what it is like to be a language student. I was a language instructor in China for ten of the eleven years that I lived there (and an adventure tour leader for one!) and have also been teaching online for over three years now. I lived and worked in Guilin, Chongqing and Jiamusi and have developed a deep understanding of the people and culture of the country, although I enjoy learning about all cultures. After leaving China, I worked in law enforcement for a year and went back to school to pursue a degree in environmental science, but came back to teaching because I missed it!

Learning a language is hard work, but there's no rule that says you can't also enjoy it. :) I have worked as a teacher in high school for Dutch and in adult education for Dutch and German. Since secondary school, I have been tutoring students in Dutch, English and German. At the moment I also work as a tutor for criminal law, looking for a place to obtain a PhD. trained NT2 teacher with more than 2000 classes given Until the start of the COVID 19 crisis, I was teaching both online and in a language institute in Mexico where we take our students from beginner level to proficiency. But since the start of the crisis, I have been teaching online fulltime. I´ve always loved meeting people and talking to people so when I stopped travelling and settled down here in Mexico, working as teacher was a logical step. I really enjoy seeing my students develop and improve. I´ve taught people between the ages of 14 and 70. My students tell me they like my classes because I am patient, have a sense of humor and because I make them feel comfortable in speaking the language that we are learning.

I find learning languages quite fun and if you share any of my passions, then we can make the learning process equally fun for both of us.
