It's really important to know what students like, what are the most challenging parts of the language for them, to predict their mistakes and help them learn from them. In my opinion, the best way to learn a language is to jump in and try to speak it right away, so my approach is not academic but starts from the practice of conversation. It took me almost 10 years to learn English and I am still trying to improve my language skills. I believe in a relaxed teaching method that puts students at ease.
