Unlock Norwegian Language & Culture with a Native Speaker – Your Guide to Fluency My teaching style is based on each student individually, as I believe everyone is different and learns in different ways. My aim is to make the lessons fun and interesting, as I myself have found these to be important factors in retaining interest and engagement in lessons I have taught or been taught in the past. Before we begin, information about yourself and the type of lessons / teaching you're looking for is necessary for me to adequately prepare 😊

First of all it is important to me to know your goals before we start. There are many reasons why someone would like to learn Norwegian, maybe you have relatives living in Norway today, or perhaps your ancestors emigrated from Norway a long time ago? It may also be that you are planning a vacation to Norway so see the wonderful nature and experience the culture of the Vikings! Quite a few people would like to learn Norwegian well in order to get a job in Norway! Based on your goals I will make an individual curriculum that focus on what you need to learn in order to master the Norwegian language at a level that you need to succeed.

I have a good ear and have always been good with languages. I offer insights into Norwegian culture and social ways whilst being a curious, patient, open friendly teacher whom loves conversation. Not just in terms of the lessons themselves, but the work you do outside them. That could be reading, listening to podcasts or watching TV shows. Just taking lessons will make the road to mastering either Norwegian or English arduous.

As a teacher I focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere for the student, where you can make mistakes without worrying. I like to have informal conversations about whatever the student wants to talk about, of course in Norwegian. Any speaking practice is good!

The most important thing for me is that you feel completely comfortable and free to do as many mistakes as you can - that's the best way to build confidence in your speaking abilities! Forgetting words, long thinking pauses, or to mispronounce words - all of that is part of learning a new language, and with me as a teacher you get a space to improve your speaking abilities without worrying about such things.
