I've had almost 150 lessons with Cynthia over the last year and a half, and have nothing but good things to say about her. I wanted a heavy dose of conversation practice with each lesson, and that's what I've been getting. Most importantly, my speaking and comprehension have dramatically improved. She gets much of the credit for that improvement. She's pushed me from a rusty B1 to a solid B2, and I'm hoping to get even better going forward.

Best teacher ever! I am 36 learning Portuguese because my wife is from Brazil. Ricardo is patient and easy to get along with - I would consider him a friend now. He teaches at my learning pace. Since I have a full-time job, the pace is slower at only one 60 minute lesson per week. However, if you want to learn quickly, because you need to for work or you are moving, he can also set a more aggressive curriculum. He is very forgiving with reschedules, even if they are last minute (I still always pay him). I have been taking classes with him for over a year and will continue to for many years until I am fluent as we will eventually move to Brazil for retirement. I feel I am making good progress. If you are searching for an English or Portuguese (or any language that Ricardo speaks) teacher then look no further - this is your guy.

Conversamos sobre temas profundos relacionados à cultura e, dessa forma, através da língua, consigo compreender cada vez mais a cultura brasileira. Ela domina muito bem o espanhol, o que também é um grande diferencial. Muitas vezes, ela explica e chama a minha atenção para as interferências do espanhol no meu português, o que me ajuda a tornar o meu português cada vez mais natural. Também gosto muito do fato de que, depois da aula, recebo um resumo detalhado, muitas recomendações de filmes do cinema brasileiro e atividades criativas!

I’ve just started working with Ana, doing two to three lessons a week, and I couldn’t be happier with choosing her as my teacher! Ana comes into every lesson with happy, positive energy that makes the learning process engaging and fun. She also creates an environment where making mistakes is always treated as an opportunity to learn and never as a bad thing. I came into these lessons speaking workable Portuguese, having lived in both Brazil and Portugal, but my level was still very basic. Within just one month of working with Ana, I’ve noticeably improved my ability to move between tenses, use a wider range of vocabulary, and talk about significantly more complex topics than I expected to be able to discuss this year! I’m going to be working with Ana for the foreseeable future, and if you’re looking for a teacher yourself, I’d highly recommend giving her a shot!

Daniel is an excellent teacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with him. I am always learning something new. I am at a conversational level in Portuguese and we have great conversations on a variety of topics. He is affirming of where I am at in my language learning, but also corrective when needed. He is everything you would want your teacher to be - knowledgeable, patient, kind, and fun! I highly recommend learning from him.

After almost 30 lessons with Joana I can say with confidence that Joana is a phenomenal teacher. Her English is great so communication is very easy. I feel very comfortable speaking, expressing myself and making mistakes, she creates a very positive environment for teaching. She is intelligent, patient, calm and overall a great person. Each time I look forward to my lesson knowing I will learn something new and be in good company. Obrigado Joana, 10/10 recommend.

Julia is an amazing teacher who puts a lot of effort into all of our classes. She provides me with many videos to watch and study outside of class, and during our hour long lessons she asks very engaging questions that open many avenues of conversation. She is also very knowledgeable about a wide variety of subjects, making it easy to talk about whatever you want while providing valuable feedback. I feel that I have made significant progress since starting lessons with Julia.

Vitória is amazing. She is so easy to talk to. I can struggle through sentences without feeling insecure. She has taken me from only being able to understand speech that is deliberately slow and articulated to being able to understand how people talk in the real world. This has given me the confidence to use my Português in real world conversations with regular people rather than only listening to slow teaching videos. You should definitely sign up for classes with her!

I have been working with Cristina for a couple of years and I love our classes together! Cristina is an exceptional instructor. She comes well-prepared to classes with a specific grammatical topic, weaving in current events and Brazilian culture to make classes interesting and relevant. She provides you with a plan to help you learn and progress at a rate you're comfortable with. She is also very flexible, both in scheduling and in presenting topics of your interest at your level of speaking the language. Since starting classes with Cristina, I have progressed significantly in speaking, listening, reading and understanding Portuguese. But above all, Cristina is an extremely warm and creative person that makes classes fun and enjoyable, and who loves to share her culture in addition to her language. She is now a friend as much as she is an instructor, and I look forward to seeing for her class each week!

Monique is an amazing Portuguese teacher. She explains information very clearly. Helps with punctuation, accent and grammar. I am a flight attendant and she has explained all of the technical vocabulary and has helped me prepare for my language test. I highly recommend for whatever reason you need to learn Portuguese.
