I have worked at the University of Peradeniya, private and public organizations, and educational institutes, and privately tutored. I have more than twelve years of experience in teaching different subjects such as science, maths, physics, biology, and both the Sinhala and the English languages to different levels of students. I am a passionate teacher with an interactive and more student-oriented teaching style.

As a teacher I like to teach diverse students. I believe the differences these students bring to the class make the lessons unique. Such a positive energy can promote learning. I try to make a difference in the lives of the students and create a comfortable learning environment through my passion of teaching and the dedication which I have to improve my students' abilities.

Excited to get to know u & hear you speak Sinhala I am from the USA and before I migrated here, I had been teaching English for 16 years as a trained teacher of English in Sri Lanka. I taught in Sri Lankan government schools from grade one to thirteen and have received awards for teaching English. Also, I used to teach English Medium Mathematics from grade six to eleven. In the USA, I worked in a community college as an adjunct professor as well as a clinical instructor of Respiratory Therapy. I love to teach because teaching makes me happy and alive and the satisfaction you receive when I see the progress of my students is priceless.

As a full-time Sinhala-as-a-foreign-language teacher (6+ years), my main focus is helping beginners and intermediate-level students speak Sinhala naturally fast.
