Certified TEFL teacher, Master's degree, 15+ years of teaching experience I am a certified TEFL teacher. I have worked at the University of Peradeniya, private and public organizations, and educational institutes, and privately tutored. I have more than twelve years of experience in teaching different subjects such as science, maths, physics, biology, and both the Sinhala and the English languages to different levels of students. I am a passionate teacher with an interactive and more student-oriented teaching style.

Excited to get to know u & hear you speak Sinhala I am from the USA and before I migrated here, I had been teaching English for 16 years as a trained teacher of English in Sri Lanka. I taught in Sri Lankan government schools from grade one to thirteen and have received awards for teaching English. Also, I used to teach English Medium Mathematics from grade six to eleven. In the USA, I worked in a community college as an adjunct professor as well as a clinical instructor of Respiratory Therapy. I love to teach because teaching makes me happy and alive and the satisfaction you receive when I see the progress of my students is priceless.

A language enthusiast, full time 'Sinhala as a foreign language' teacher with 5 years experience. I’ve been teaching Sinhala since 2018, and after joining italki in 2021, I decided to go all-in! I am now a full-time Sinhala teacher teaching Sinhala on italki, an online language academy, and with my online content. In my lessons, we keep things practical and interesting. My priority is getting you comfortable with real-life conversations. We’ll also use my "language logic" to decode the grammar and vocabulary & we'll also discover the culture. This way, you don't just memorize, you truly understand how the language works. I have developed my own specialized syllabus for spoken Sinhala. Because I know every learner is different, I bring tons of variety and fun activities to our sessions.

I have a neutral Sri Lankan accent. I am also fluent in English and have a lot of experience teaching English speakers. I have 5 years of experience teaching Sinhala. My lessons are both fun and productive!
