MY CORRECTED VERSION OF: "YOU ARE NEXT"

My sister Neo got married a year ago. Before getting
married, a small ceremony was held with a few relatives
from both sides who interviewed the would-be couple
about issues pertaining to their future marriage.

In the said ceremony, one of my aunts said to my
eldest sister, "Be ready, you are next." Indeed, a few days back, my sister also got a marriage
proposal.

This time, one of my aunts told me "Be ready, you are
next." I thought this comment was so annoying since
I was happy being single.

We have 3 very old relatives in our family. Two of
them are over 100 years old. One of them just died
last week at the age of 93.

After performing the rituals, I talked to my aunt
who told me "I was next" and talked to her about
the family crisis that our family had to go through
in the recent past.

She told me that we cannot do anything against
the Will of God. I agreed. The aunt who told
me that "I was next" has passed away. I then
added in jest to the aunt that I was talking to
"You need to be ready yourself, because 'You
are next'".

Note: I gave this humorous comment after the ritual
so it was not disrespectful at all.

You are next!

My sister Neo got married a year back. Before marriage, both guy and girl were asked about the proposal, how they feel about it and whether they agree on the proposal. This small ceremony takes places on both sides, and usually, few relatives attend this ceremony too.

When Neo was asked about the proposal, she said “yes”. One of my aunts, who died last month, said to my eldest sister, "Be ready - you are next”.

A few days back, my eldest sister got a proposal too and she also accepted it happily. Again, one of my aunts said to me, "Be ready - you are next”. That was so annoying; I mean, who wants to get married. I'm happy with the way I am - but FINE!!!!!

We have three very old relatives in our family; two of them are above 100 now. One of my aunts died last week. She was 93 years old. After performing all the rituals, I went to my aunt who said to me that I am next. I started telling her that its sad that our family has faced a lot in the recent past. She replied, “Yeah we can’t do anything against the will of God Almighty”. I replied yeah “Apo (aunt), our beloved Apo Sakeena (name of aunt who died) has died but be ready “You are next” ..lolx..lolx..lolx.

Note: I said this after all the rituals, so it was not bad at all !!
