How do "read recepits" and notifications make you feel?
HOW DO DOUBLE TICKS, NOTIFICATIONS AND “IS TYPING” MESSAGES MAKE YOU FEEL? DO YOU THINK THEY SHOULD BE ELIMINATED?
When we are considered to be online all the time and always have our phones in our hands 24/7, ‘Read receipts’ and notifications can be very emblematic.
To start with, when it occurs to me, if I know someone has seen my message, so why haven't they replied? I try to assumed the other person is busy, but to be honest I never picture them driving, or in the bath, or with relatives who won’t let them use them. I always think they are mad at me or that I did something wrong which makes me feel worried, ignored and even mad sometimes.
On the other hand, the situation changes if is me. If I am the one who has to reply, I feel stress because I must answer immediately otherwise the other person is going to feel like I felt before.
Moreover, there is nothing worse than the awaited and expected moment when "is tying" appears in the screen for so long and suddenly disappears and you get no answer. What? What was he going to say? Why did he stopped?
Appart from these, it is obvious that read receipts and notifications can have a bad impact and cause misunderstandings. However, I don’t think they should be eliminated due to they are optional: Whatsapp has an option whether you can decided if you want to be read or not, the same with your last connection.

HOW DO DOUBLE TICKS, NOTIFICATIONS AND “IS TYPING” MESSAGES MAKE YOU FEEL? DO YOU THINK THEY SHOULD BE ELIMINATED?When we are considered to be online all the time and always have our phones in our hands 24/7, ‘Read receipts’ and notifications can be very emblematic*.
To start with, when it occurs to me, if I know someone has seen my message, so I find myself wondering why haven't they replied. I try to assumed the other person is busy, but to be honest I never picture them driving, or in the bath, or with relatives who won’t let them use their phone. I always (better: tend to) think they are mad at me or that I did something wrong which makes me feel worried, ignored and even mad sometimes.
On the other hand, the situation changes if is me. If I am the one who has to reply. I feel stress because I must (better: pressure to) answer immediately otherwise the other person is going to feel like I felt before.
Moreover, there is nothing worse than the awaited and expected moment when "is typing" appears on the screen for so long and suddenly disappears and you get no answer. What? What was he going to say? Why did he stopped?
Appart from these issues, it is obvious that read receipts and notifications can have a bad (better: negative) impact and cause misunderstandings. However, I don’t think they should be eliminated due to the fact that they are optional: WhatsApp has an option whether you can decided that lets you choose if whether you want to be read show read receipts or not, the same with your last connection**.

* 'emblematic' isn't the right word here, but I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
