Hi! My name is Marisa and I'm from the United States. I'm a native of North Carolina and still live in this beautiful state. I'm a lover of language and culture and love meeting people from around the world. I also enjoy handcrafts, such as sewing and knitting, as well as performance arts, such as dance and circus arts.

My classes will focus on conversation and communicative activities. I want my students to get comfortable speaking, as that is usually the hardest part of learning a language. We will use videos, short stories, or news articles to spark conversation, as well as our own personal interests and experiences.

I've been having lessons with Marisa for a while and I am thrilled that I found someone like her here on italki. I like that she shares facts about life in the USA so it's not only English lesson for me but also learning about cultural differences and customs. Besides that Marisa is always helpful, motivating and easy-going, what I find very important when I talk to someone in a foreign language.
