Hello there everyone. My name is Richard, and I come from the Isle of Wight in the far south of England. I take a great interest in human communication, and that leads me to read a lot on philosophy and linguistics. I spend a lot of my time studying foreign languages myself, and even taking lessons here on Italki, so I have quite a lot of experience being the student as well as the tutor. In terms of tutoring, I have been doing this for about 5 years, and during this time I have come to work with a lot of great people with varying goals.

My favourite thing to teach is communication. When learning a new language, there are some problems people might run into: connotations, culture, exactly how we think, formality etc. As a teacher, I aim to teach students how to communicate with English-speaking people. I can teach communication in most settings, whether formal or informal, but my speciality is general, everyday conversation.

我的課程內容與教學風格

I have two main types of lessons: grammar lessons, and conversational lessons. Grammar lessons focus on the construction of different types of English sentences, allowing the student to practice with new constructions and use them to communicate ideas. Conversational lessons focus on the student's ability to improvise, as I firmly believe that improvisation is the most important skill for communication. Grammar lessons will be done with grammar books and worksheets if needed. The worksheets can be produced by me if necessary; just ask! The conversational lessons take many forms, but tend to focus of your self-expression through the use of exercises. or even just free conversation.

By no means it could be described as dull, second-rate or middling. The sipirits were high, Richard is a first-class communicator and the overall impression of the lesson- it was superb. Time to book the next one!

I liked the chat with Richard, funny and relaxed person. You just need improve the sound quality that it wasn't quite good and also he is too far away from camera,and it was sometimes hard to listen him properly.
