My name is Stephanie Sy Dabu and my students call me Teacher Steph. I was born as the eldest among my 3 siblings on the 20th of November 1989. I was born in Iloilo City but was raised in Pampanga. I am fond of reading and watching videos. When I get to have free time, I travel. I visit different places to unwind, relax, meet people, and try local delicacies. I started teaching when I was 18 and my first teaching job was in an English academy run by a Korean in the Philippines. I have been teaching English online for years now. Before being an English teacher, I had worked as a tour guide in a travel agency. In addition to my job experiences, I also worked as a receptionist.

我的教學經歷

I have been in the ESL teaching industry for over 10 years now and I am so passionate about my profession. I establish relative connection with my students to create a fun atmosphere while learning the language. I always make it sure that rapport is established while teaching the technicalities and practicalities of English.

我的課程內容與教學風格

I am fond of teaching speaking and listening classes. I am very particular in how my students express themselves which includes their pronunciation, intonation, and accent. I do my best in helping them to neutralize their speaking ability. In order to achieve this, I apply the Socratic method of teaching wherein questioning is essential to stimulate critical thinking among students. In this way, the students speak more than I do and it gives them reasonable time to use the language which is the most effective method to improve one’s speaking ability.
