I studied primary and secondary school in Greek, high school in Turkish and university in English. I am a Greek of Turkish origin and I can speak both languages in native level. I can also speak Italian and German and I have practiced Azerbaijani too. I have lived and worked in different countries. I have taught several students Greek and Turkish, and now I am here to share my experience online. I have translated several novels from Greek to Turkish. I have special passion for literature and languages, linguistics and etymology. I share your similar passions and I'd like to contribute to your journey in learning a new language, either conversationally or in detailed grammar.
Me as a Teacher
I am a polyglot myself and I am passionate of sharing my language learning techniques with yourselves. I am here to support you learn either Greek or Turkish. Both Greek and Turkish are very interesting and mind broadening languages. You will be surprised to discover how many Greek words (not only scientific or philosophical words) exist in your language and how interesting their roots are. Turkish, on the other hand, comes from an entirely different language family, the Ural-Altay family, and you will discover its enchanting syntax and its long words where sometimes a single word can be a complete sentence. With Turkish you can communicate from the Adriatic Sea to the Great Wall of China.
My lessons & teaching style
I have two major types of lessons which can be tailored according to your needs. One is for beginners which start from the most basic such as the alphabet, spelling, basic words and grammar. The second type is for more advanced students which is split to two different styles according to the requirements of the student: style i) classical (inductive) method by progressing gradually with grammar from basic level towards advanced grammar and speech, style ii) Diving directly into texts and learning by analysis of each expression (deductive method). I suggest consistency and continuity of three months (120hours=10hours per wk=2hours per weekday) to allow the language to settle in your brain.
