About Me

Hi, I'm Michela, an Italian Language teacher with DITALS certification. I'm a native speaker living near Florence. In 2008, after a degree in Modern Literature, I earned a PhD in Cultural Anthropology in Paris and Siena followed by research and teaching in Italian universities on the role of food in culture. Me as a Teacher
Since 2009, I've been giving Italian Language and Culture courses to adults, including managers, asylum seekers and university students. I offer courses for any level and Language Certification - like CILS, CELI and the new B1 level test for obtaining the italian citizenship - or interest whether tourism, work, study or simply a passion for the language.My lessons & teaching style
All courses will be tailored to your specific needs. I use to share a googledoc to take notes during the classes and a google-drive folder to collect all the course materials. For Certifications specific classes and materials will be provided. Classes can emphasize conversation, vocabulary, written Italian for academic and professional use. For those tourists, students or professionals focusing on the food and wine sector, I am especially qualified to teach specific courses.My teaching material

Michela was very prepared for our first class. I got homework for the next lesson, and I feel like she is taking care that I don't have any holes in my knowledge. She did a great job of correcting my pronunciation and also writing down words and phrases in the chat. thank you!

Michela was very good at determining my comprehension level early in the lesson. She then tailored the rest of the lesson to my abiity. She made the lesson rewarding (and fun) with just enough of a challenge to instill in me a sense of accomplishment. Very happy with her professionalism and teaching style.

After another break of a few weeks due to work and holidays it was good to return to a lesson with Michela. As usual after a break there was a lot to talk about. What we have been doing, etc… this time we had more things to discuss as I had visited Rome for the first time, which gave me opportunity to practise what Michela has been teaching me for the past few years! I can definitely see the change and I am a lot more confident speaking with native Italians and being understood too. It is good to receive compliments on my Italian from local people that I spoke to! Before we knew it the lesson was over. No doubt there will be a lot still to discuss for the next lesson… especially with regards to the sack of new books I have bought in Rome and the films I have seen. Grazie Michela come sempre. A presto.
