Actually I like to read self-help books because they give us tips and recommendations to develop ourselves in many ways. Some of self-help books I recommend are “the atomic habits”, “your second life starts when you realise you only have one “, and “rewire your anxious brain”. I find them very helpful, and I learnt a lot from them.

I always think, why do all Japanese say 「髪切る」, even though many Japanese don't cut their hair themselves? (I'm a Japanese.) 「髪切ってもらう」 is almost correct Japanese, but we don't use this sentence.🤔 Similarly, we usually say 「手術する」 even though most Japanese don't perform their surgery themselves! 「手術してもらう」 is almost correct... (omitted below) I always wonder.

Generally, we're kind people, especially with strangers, for instance, if they try to get driving instructions or if a tourist needs help, we will gladly assist.

It’s sunny today. The radiant sunshine has swept away all the dampness. To my surprise, my mom signed me up for a fire station tour in advance without telling me. It just happened to be the only sunny, warm day we've had recently. How serendipitous! With some friends, we visited our local fire department. Several firefighters welcomed us and gave us a tour. They even invited me to try the sliding pole, but I didn’t dare. These men don’t take the stairs; they slide down a pole that goes between floors, like doing a stunt. Unlike in the US, fire engines in China have fewer shiny, reflective parts; they are simply pure red. Finally, they taught us how to use a fire extinguisher. It was heavy; I could barely carry it. But aiming the nozzle to put out a fire was fun. I'd love to do that again. It was truly a fulfilling day.

Jon is a high school student who has a lot of homework every day. Clare is his older sister and she makes do his homework because what Jon likes is watching movies and playing video games. However, Clare likes to read and write.

In my country, more and more people want to have an unforgettable birthday every year. They spend more time preparing for their birthday than what they spend on traditional festivals, like Spring Festival. Because they think that birthday is a special day just belongs to themselves. Spending much time usually gets along spending too much money. Choosing a great place for birthday party is the most diffcult step thoughout the whole process. Then who will be invited and what food need to be prepared will be easy. Finally, enjoy the best time on the special day with others. Dancing,singing and drinking until midnight.
