Hi, I’m David, a Business English and Behavioural Interview Coach, primarily working with Russian-speaking tech professionals. This is a summary of one of my articles on Medium. Send me a message to read the full-length version! How to Answer ‘Tell Me About Yourself’ This question causes panic — even in experienced professionals. But there’s no single ‘correct’ answer. It’s about human connection. Start with the basics: say your name and where you’re based. It sounds obvious, but it sets a conversational tone. You’re a person, not just a title. Speaking of titles, don’t lead with ‘I’m a super-passionate Senior Developer.’ You’re not a job title, and those adjectives sound robotic. If you’re in the interview, your passion is already implied. Let your personality show instead. Use structure: PRESENT, PAST, FUTURE. Present: what are you doing now? Mention your company and its main focus — briefly. Past: where have you been, what did you learn? Keep it short and positive. Avoid saying ‘I left’ or ‘I quit.’ Instead, say ‘I moved on to develop myself.’ Future: why this role? What motivates you? What excites you about the company? This part is often forgotten. Don’t wait for the question — show vision and enthusiasm now. It makes you stand out. Keep your answer short (1–2 mins). Pay attention to your interviewer’s body language. If their focus starts to drift, wrap up. Most importantly — be relatable, be real. Interviewers remember candidates who feel human, not scripted. Finally, soft skills are crucial. Many companies weigh technical skills and behavioural fit equally. You can be brilliant technically, but if you’re toxic, uncollaborative, or unclear — it won’t work. Balance both sides of yourself. Speak like a human being. And good luck!

Next Tuesday, my male cousin will be getting married. So I went to stay at his home to stayed there for some days in advance. 下个星期2我的堂哥结婚了,所我先提前去他们家住一段时间。 While waiting for dinne time, my niece kept staring at me as we ate, making me feel very embarrass and flustered. After dinner, she constantly asked me to play with her, telling m she liked me and thought I was very beautiful. Her compliment left me feeling flattered. I didn't know what I should respond, I just said “thank you” repeatedly. I knew that respond made us seem rather distant. She even told me “You don't have to say thank you. You're really beautiful!”. She seemed really likes me and always want to play with me or even sleep beside me. My nephew was also incredible sweet to me. He'd shar snacks with thoughtfully consider my needs and actively ask me what I wanted to eat or watch. He even gave me his tools. Honestly, it all felt magical. I can't believe children were taking such good care of me! 我的侄子也很好。他会把很多吃的让给我,处处为我着想。他会主动问我想吃什么,想看什么,并主动送给我他的玩具。天呐,我感觉这一切都很奇妙.我居然被小孩这么照顾着。 PS: In our area, many people hold wedding ceremony after having children, especially boys. There is a strong preference for boys over girls in our area. PS 我们这很多人都是生完孩子再办婚礼,尤其是生男孩子。我们这边有很严重的重男轻女

Topic: A hobby turn into a career? Is it good? Hobby is the thing that we love to do , It is our favorite and most enjoyable thing that we always want to do or accomplish, We feel refresh.and stress free if we have the time and the privilege to do it . But what if we try to think of a way to turn it into a career?? Does it sound interesting? Yes! A hobby can be transform and can be more meaningful if we turn it into a career.. Definitely it is much better if we can earn from it financially and intellectually.. Like a candle making hobby turn into a business, baking cookies or brownies that we can sell online and earn money from it. We became more productive and wiser as a person ,if we think of it not a hobby no more but as a skill that we can develop and be proud of..
