もなく洞穴へ帰ってきた子狐は、　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
「お母ちゃん、おててが冷たい、」
と言って、ぬれて牡丹色になった両手を
母さん狐の前に さしだしました。
母さん狐は、その手に、は―っと息をふっかけて、
ぬくとい母さんの手でやんわり包んでやりながら、
「もうすぐ暖かくなるよ、雪をさわると、
　すぐ暖かくなるもんだよ」　　　
といいましたが、かわいい ぼうやの手に
しもやけが できては かわいそうだから、
夜になったら町まで行って、
ぼうやの おててに あうような 毛糸の手袋を
買ってやろうと思いました。
